What exactly do I need to complete for my Experience Biology lab assignments?
In the student lab guide, it says:
"Most labs require you to write an accompanying lab report to go along with your assignment. The labs that require a report will have a ‘lab report’ page at the end of the assignment instructing you to do this and some will have additional questions to answer in your report. However, there are other labs where you will just need to complete the exercises outlined in the lab instructions and turn in those exercises."
In other words, each lab is a bit different. For instance, Lesson 1 is all about the microscope. You should complete the lab guide papers which include observational drawings, the microscope labeling, etc. Lesson 8 is similar — the assignment requires you to complete a Punnet square activity. There are a few other assignments throughout the year that only require worksheets from the lab guide, and some do not have a lab report but do have discussion questions to complete.
Beginning in Lesson 2, students will be asked to provide a lab report and along with any observational drawings completed. The majority of the assignments throughout the year do include a lab report.
The requirements for the lab can be determined by the last page of the lab assignment. For example, in Lesson 2, page 14 is titled Lab Report and lays out the questions to answer in the lab report. Lesson 11, page 64, states no lab report required, but to answer the discussion questions.
