Can my student skip part of the course?
Elementary (Level A) Courses: You are free to use any or all parts of the course for your children. There is no requirement to complete all the components of each lesson, or even to complete every lesson.
Level B Courses: In order to progress to each new lesson, all components of the prior lesson must be completed. For Level B Experience Astronomy, the readings from the textbook are highly recommended but not required.
Level C Courses: In order to complete the requirements for high school credit, all elements of the course must be completed. Quizzes must be passed with a grade of 70% or higher to move forward to the next lesson. Readings from textbooks for Level C courses are not optional. Other assignments (labs for Biology; projects and papers for Astronomy; the map and timeline assignments for Equipped!) must be completed according to the course instructions in order to receive credit.
While we’ve designed the Level C courses to include enough work for high school credit, we also acknowledge this is still a homeschool course. If a parent chooses to have their student skip certain elements or wants to replace them with other learning activities, we certainly respect their decision to do that as the homeschool parent. Ultimately, you the parent, are in charge of making the best decisions for your student's education!
