Why do you allow upper level students to retake quizzes? Isn’t that cheating?
The quizzes are to be used as a study opportunity. They are one of the multiple learning tools to help students learn and retain the most important information from each lesson. Any questions students miss indicate areas they need to go back and study some more, in order to fully absorb the material. When they feel confident they understand the material better, they can go back and re-take the quiz in order to check their knowledge.
Exams, on the other hand, are designed to test for mastery of the material. We expect students to be fully prepared for each exam (using the quizzes, lesson videos, notes, and other material to study), which is why exams may only be taken one time and the grade is final.
