How much time per week will Experience Astronomy take?
That depends on which level of the course your student is taking!
Elementary Experience Astronomy (Level A)
The Elementary course is designed to be flexible to fit your family's schedule. Families have access to 30 engaging video lessons, each introducing your kids to new concepts. You can complete as many or as few lessons as you’d like each week. However, most families complete one lesson per week and complete the full course in one school year. But lifetime access gives you the flexibility to finish the course at your own pace.
You can use this course the best way you see fit! Think of the lesson videos as the hub of the course and the other elements as the spokes. Use as many or few of those spokes as you wish for continued learning. You can spread the weekly assignments out to as few or many days as you'd like—or skip the parts your family doesn't need. The amount of time you spend on science each week is entirely up to you!
Experience Astronomy (Level B)
Experience Astronomy Level B takes students on an adventure of discovering the Lord's sky over the course of 35 weekly lessons. There are a number of components to each of these lessons:
- Weekly video lessons (20-25 minutes)
- Observation activities take (15-30 minutes)
- Quizzes are also offered weekly (15 minutes or less).
- Weekly reading assignments assigned from Sign & Seasons (varies)
Experience Astronomy PLUS (Level C)
Experience Astronomy PLUS builds on our Level B program—with all the same lectures, quizzes, and outdoor sky observations—and then takes students to the next level.
In addition to all of the assignments from the Level B program, students will have 12 extra lessons throughout the year (one is released every 2-3 weeks) with an accompanying project or research paper. Students should plan to spend at least 2 hours per week on the lesson and/or working on their projects.
